griff851 wroteNever happen Steve. You'll pump up your tires, turn your back, and you bike will have floated away! π
Hi Griff not sure Stevie's to the point of filling tyres with helium yet!

Maybe it's all the hot air.

You're quite right of course Stafford,
What chance would an old man on only a "Mildly" self tuned and built humble 851 have against experienced Trackday Warriors?
Stevie B will tell you I'm no hooligan on the roads.
Mind you if I were ever out on a GSXR1000, I'm 100% sure some old Grandad in knocked about shabby Spinnakar leathers wouldn't get past me on his ratty old 2 stroke MZ...π

I have told you boys to play nicely before
If you don't behave there will be no coke and crisps ,you will just have to stay in the car!

Instead of under the pool table in the public bar

First meet coming up. This coming Sunday 3rd! So, charge those batteries, lube those chains, check tyre pressures and clean the dust from your visors! It's going to be sunny and warm... On the inside anyway π
stafford
Which coffee emporium, I'll be on the SS though.
Pompey
I think half way down the high street on the north side there is the castle and ball pub. Thats 3 of us checked in for sure...
Mr.R
I can't make this one, but I'll try my best later on.
Just walked home from work and there's thick frost/ice on the cars, the gritters/salt spreaders will be out in force down 'ere.
Steve R
Pompey
No worries mr R. The important thing is we have a starting point and a set time and place...
Pompey
Thanks to everyone for turning up. Pity it was so cold but we have started the ball rolling. A special effort from Phil for the haul from Wales! Steve for turning up on his 444 with optional side stand and Stafford and Liz who made the right decision on transport options. also Tony and Nick who hijacked a ride for good coffee and bacon butties . It will be warmer next time and a run down to the motor museum in the new forest may be on the cards, hope you all warm up before then!
stafford
Good to see you all and the bloody SS has now decided to start, next time on the 888 with tax.
trogg888
Good to see you !
It was good to come over to the dark side to meet-up, and experience a bit of 888 twisty action. Being sandwiched between Steve and Pompey's gulpers made my day - sorry mine doesn't have the same boom-factor.
New Forest sounds like a good one.
Maybe a trip westbound over the bridge might be entertained once the days get longer and the temps higher ? Talgarth, Builth and Brecon give plenty of loop options, out to Llandovery, and even Aberystwyth, if you like ice-cream on the sea front. All just a warm-up along the M4.
See you next time for another bacon butty start, and I hope you can bring along your new acquisition Stafford π,
Phil

Jolly good to see you all today
Bit chilly but warmer on the way back
No malfunctions on the return journey
Aprils meet should be warmer -we could do it at my house !
Nice blat with pomp and trogg to calne
Regards Steve
Mr.R
Sorry I missed it...Next time hopefully.
I spent most of the day in my garden in the wintery sunshine, (but F'ck me was it cold!) swapping the front ends on my 851/916, it's now fitted with Maxton (ised) Ohlins FG9050's and RRR Ultralight weight clipons.
It's also got oil and coolant again after refurbishing a starter motor and the mag' Corse alternator cover, now resplendent in a nice new coat of "Baby Shit Yellow" paint. π
Thanks Jasper for the paint...
Now to sort out the 5 spoke front wheel/alloy spindle and electronic rev counter...
Hopefully I'll be up at Steve B's for the ride into Bristol for the Italian Auto/Moto Festival in April.
Maybe see some of you then?

Funny that now its warmer!
Only teasing mate :-)
Pompey
Put the date in the calender chaps... 7th April! Weather permitting we can make it a full riding session with less coffee swilling around! It was a good start and bodes well for the futureπ
stafford
Can't do the 7th myself as it's a family weekend, will be off to Thruxton the week after for BSB though. (if it's warm enough ;-))
Nattyboy
next time for me - its prescott hill climb meet 7/4 - what are the thoughts about all going there. The lady who just bought one of my 888's is organising it and is keen !
Pompey
That sounds perfect Natt. Earlier start then off to the Hill climb. I wonder if we can get somewhere to park up nearer the paddock ( if there is one) all together... Oh yes, we talked about that yesterday... who is the lady who bought your 888? Does she live near Swindon?
