Well...the 750SS green frames has other issues. Like most places say there were 400 odd made, but really there were only 200 odd made. According to the owner of the one I just finished pissing about with. All very Italian.😁

Hi guys,

First i want to make a statement... I'm Dutch but i'm on your side!

I was also looking for an SPS and visited the #033 and #333 near Rotterdam.
The guy over there told me he bought #333 from an airforce pilot and said that not only the first 100 sp4's were sps but that also some other bikes were sps's. You ask and Ducati delivers... but now i read on this forum he bought it from Marc in Zwolle! Don't know who or what to believe anymore!
The #033 wasn't for sale cause he got that bike as a present or something.

The story i heard about the #002 is that Marc never thought someone would actually buy it for 40k but when Nocaster did he chickened out and did not want to sell anymore...

I would like to know more about that list that is put together with the frame and engine numbers. I bought an SPS and would like to know if everything is correct, i'm pretty sure it's ok but now that i've read everything on the forum you start to worry...

If there's anything i can do for guys abroad let me know, i'm eager to help!

As far as I'm concerned #333 isn't a SP4S....just a SP4 wannabe.

Marc offered #002 for $50k.... not $40k......and Norcaster didn't chicken out..... he paid up-front in full, then when Marc refused to send Norcaster the frame & engine #'s......that's when things came to a halt.

As far as a SP4S Registry, the SP4S frame and plaque #'s are in the hands of Lodi, who has been giving every excuse possible not to come up with them..... but we aren't taking this as an end to our requests, so it's an on-going challange that is still in progress.

Yes ..... I would be concerned about owning a SP4S without the original factory documents or a clear documentated lineation of it's originality. There's way to much money to be easily made by converting a SP4.

Sorry, i meant the guy from stretta chickened out... he never expected someone would actually pay 40 or 50k for the bike.

I think the bike is the real deal, but if he doesn't want to sell it he should refund every penny Nocaster paid him!

I'm pretty sure my bike is ok because the previous owner bought it from a Ducati dealer who owned the bike for a couple of years. But of course i want to be sure... So the best thing to do is send an email straight to Ducati?

Yes......send Ducati a email with your frame #, yoke # and engine # and see if they will confirm it as an originally produced SP4S.

Any chance of some photographs of your SP4S, What number is it, Has it got a carbon fuel tank?

But this year on my birthday my dream came true, 5 years ago i bought a sp4 but now i finally own a sps.

Firstly welcome aboard, & you have good taste.

I am assuming that you are an astute Gent & as you mentioned taken the time to read what was debated in detail regarding the rare SPS and the unfortunate events which followed here with one of our colleges.

I have been burnt before, so as Mike mentioned get in contact with the Lady's at Ducati and they will put you straight.

Fingers crossed that what you have, is what you really thought it was supposed to be, best of luck 😁
