Some of the threads and holes needed cleaning out after powder coating

Another small hold up - seems I have the wrong length bolt for the suspension hoop to suspension rocker, hopefully can still be ordered.

After some research seems I need one from a 1994 888 not a 1992 - M10x95 mm (not M10x80 mm) Amazing how Ducati changed stuff like this back in the day and sometimes it seems at random!

have been talking to Stein Dinse today. It is now confirmed that I need the hoop to rocker bolt from a 1994 model 888 which is longer at 95mm. They have the bolt but not the nut.

Does anyone know what thread the bolt and nut are?

I've tried fitting a standard lock nut (on the 80mm bolt I have) and it's a different thread...

It's the same bolt used on the ‘93 to ‘00 Monsters, and the same nut used on all three pivots on the rocker arm.

Looks to be a 95mm long with M10x1.5mm thread.

1.25 pitch is more common, which is probably why your try was unsuccessful. Probably the 1.5 coarse thread--still super easy to find online and in whatever material you want, once you know what to look for. Count yourself lucky you don't need the super oddball 1.0 fine thread rose joint ride height adjusters for the race version of the hoop.

I am also searching for a rear hugger / mudguard for the bike and need to identify the swingarm I have, from a little searching and comparing online drawings of the mudguard mounts I 'think' I have a 1998 Monster 900 Swingarm - can anyone confirm?

I think you are correct on the Monster swing arm.

Here is mine with the upright mounting tabs on it.

the 3 vertical bolt hugger is monster. the 4 horizontal bolt hugger is 851 (also used on monsters up to vin 006463, whcih would be start of 1995 model from my records).

the steel m600 arm introduced for 1995 is 3 bolt vertical hugger, but it's a different hugger to the aluminium arm too.

Brad - Are you sure about the Vertical and Horizontal? Or is that just the hugger itself that you are referring to? I have both vertical and horizontal captive nuts in my 888 swing arm. seems to be the same for the SP5 rear swing arm too. My 888 is an early Strada and I believe it to be original

Thanks for the info both of you, I will start a little hunt for the correct hugger, its probably a low priority but good to have the info to save buying the wrong stuff !

A bit of work on the header and swing arm and we now have clearance to fit the two.

The header needed a little squashing and the swing arm needed a little filing but now on full extension (past the max shock extension) they just touch so I am happy with that

the arm you pictured is an "851" arm. it's the hugger mounting that varies. the later monster one doesn't have any tabs to bolt the hugger to.

This brings back memories. I installed a 916cc from and ST4 in my 1991 851. It was an surprisingly straightforward job. I documented most of it.

The exhaust is just not happening... thought I had it done but fitting the front header makes it foul the swing arm really badly. Was hoping to avoid having a custom system made but maybe thats not possible?

i used a hammer to make mine fit initially. worked fine.

Thanks Brad, thats what I tried but I must have gone too much and distorted it, I picked up a new ST4S header from ebay and it just needed a light tweak to fit - all good now !

Can anyone please confirm which of the fuel tank connections are shown in the picture below ?

Also just to confirm the fuel flow is :

Fuel pump in Fuel tank > horizontal cylinder > vertical cylinder > pressure reg > tank return

The workshop manual is slightly confusing in exact details

I used the ST4 header and collector and attached the 851/Ferrraci pipes to it. The ST4 header only needed a little massaging.
