I know this aint much help... I searched for months looking for the same part. Found a brand new one in the UK. The guy who had it couldn't get it to fit on anything he knew of, he thought it was faulty😄 or had been machined incorrectly at the factory😯. Naturally I didn't tell him what it would fit or what it was made to fit... Needless to say, I now have it😎 Sorry, not for sale!

A top clamp from an the early Monster is 25mm, trouble is, they have the handle bar tube clamp on top.... could always machine/mill it off. That was my back up plan before I found one.😱

From memory as well as having no ignition key mounting points they are slightly wider fork openings so the bottom yoke will need to match.

I almost feel guilty having bought a part a fellow member is desperately seeking.
The top yoke will be used, in case i end up w legs having 51mm top ends.. in case i get 53mm legs, ill not need it and you name is literally already on it !

Nick... i was just looking at the bridges again... if you have access to a mill and lathe, you could bore out a 27 off set version (strada/900 ss version) and make a bushing (w collar on the top side) and you have it... except the diffrent 25 vs 27 off set, nothing special about it

Millihaff... your memory is better than mine... you are correct 30 mm off it is...

Just had another look at them ... I'm still of the opinion that a strada top yoke can be modified rafter easily... as follows :

Stem/hole is 24mm... hence moving off set of 5mm, would require a hole of 34mm..

A bushing of ID 24 / OD 34 should be no big deal ... suggest a collar i.e OD 38MM/5MM high from the top side..

(Collar would obviously require a similar additional bore to clear bushing, from the top side.

Just an idea and my 2 cents..

BTW : Fork holes would need a +1m bore as well in case they are for Ohlins (51 mm)

Yes it is easily possible. Here is a 888 standard top yoke modified for 25mm offset. This is from my 851198 (851 with the 1198 engine in it). I needed the 25mm offset to use the 1098 lower yoke.

Guys just looking at you conundrum, is there any reason why you can't just fill the hole with weld and re-bore the hole. I know an aircraft certified welder and they get pretty serious about what's possible and what will fail. I could take my old clamp and ask if you like.

TBH Griff I think it would be better to bore the hole out and fit a bush, rather than weld up the hole and rebore it.
Boring out the hole offset would still leave the same amount of "meat" to the outer edge of the yoke, without weakening it by inducing extreme heat.
The best weldable alloy only returns to around 70% of it's original strength even after heat treatment.
Of course it would be much better to do neither and just have a casting/forging that doesn't need modifying.
If I were doing this job on a "shoestring" I'd get hold of a Monster yoke and machine off the handlebar clamps...Job done!

The 70's 900 Bevel top yokes on the 900SS had a wrinkle finish paint, if you striped this off you'd find the blanked off with grub screws holes left over from the Darmah handlebar mounts.

I see your point, but I don't know for sure about strength loss that why I'd have to ask, which I might do if I remember next time I'm chatting. I did then think maybe interference fit solid plug and rebore.
As for the bevel, at some point pre 77 they made a new mould.
