Hi Marvin,
That was an interesting and informative read, it saved me a lot of time as well!
I was just about to reply with all that I found out/learned about Ti' rods and then state again why I won't use them a road going engine.
But that link has said it all.
Shortly I'll be looking to buy some Carrillo's for my 984 Project, I knew about the belt tension problem and had thought about making plates to move the tensioning rollers to bring the belts back into spec.
But the idea of using shorter rods sounds good to me, as I have a pair of 955 Pistal's (The same as 926 items but a different gudgeon/wrist pin height) and a 900 crank I'd only need rods 1mm shorter, to bring the whole plot back into the ball park for setting the squish with no need to re-locate the rollers.
Which also meens that I can keep the standard belt covers, I like the idea of keeping the covers as it only takes one small stone in between the belts etc and it's goodbye motor time.
RESULT!

PS. I've now lost 23lbs in 7 weeks on the Doc's low fat diet, much more of this and I'll be dusting off the old race leathers sooner than I'd planned, I'm feeling fitter as well.
PPS. The Scrumpy is going down well tonight, I've taken to drinking every other night now in the interest of the weight loss program.
