This forum is of great help
I was not really active on this forum until recently when I started to tidy up my 851S3. I have to say I am very pleased with the responsiveness and quality here, great place and big help! Due to the variaty of bikes I have - in total 13, many twostrokes from YAMAHA, but also 2 other DUCATIs (1991 750SS Nuda, 1996 748, both bought from new and very low mileage still) - i am a member on different forums, and this is in the top 2 clearly.
I bought my 851 with 100.000km on the clock unseen on ebay ( only time I did this) and now its time to get her in perfect condition. All my bikes are either bought new or restored to as new condition.
Not sure whether I should plan on rebuilding my engine, including some outsourcing due to lack of experience on these engines, or just look for a low-mileage alternative.
What else does it require to use an ST 4 engine? ECU, headers, wiring loom?
Happy New Year to all of you!

Good morning, hey, I'm new !!
Morning guys .
A quick hello as I'm new . Owned a 888 many many years ago and always having great memories of these bikes started looking around on the internet as I'm looking to get a bike again , and a 888 is a possible .
Im In two minds . Either I borrow some extra cash and go full on for an sp5 which was a dream bike , or be sensible and just keep to a Strada again and actually use the bike more. I think a 5 would be looked at more than ridden!!! Dare I say an rc30 is in the same frame on the loan idea.
I don't see a lot of bikes in your for sale section so looks like you lot either hang on to them or they are few or far between ! Strada or not !!
Any how, hello from a wet England.

Hello, just a lurker registering. I work with modern Ducatis, historical research on EEPROMS brought me here.
Sites like this keep old bikes alive. ๐
Thank you!
Mr.R
This latest post drew my attention to the link from glassman888 to the pic's in his link they're well worth spending the time (and it isn't 10 min's worth) to look at them all.
Thank you very much Gerald aka Gee.

Hello all - new SP4 Owner
I've just bought Lordmoonpie's SP4 and when Mr R found out he ordered me to sign-up here ... so here I am ๐
He tells me there is a hot-spot of 851 and 888 owners near me in the SW (Taunton) so I hope to meet some of you when the weather gets a bit warmer.
In the meantime I'm sure I'll have a bunch of dumb-ass questions for you all.
I take delivery of the bike on Thursday - she is currently at JHP having a full belt service.

Long time follower of the forum but novice poster! I have been looking for a long time for a 851/888SP# but as you guys already know - not easy to find one and also try and buy it sight unseen and all the way down under.
I have a few Ducati's as diverse as a 71 Scrambler through to a MH900e.
I just need to fill in my late 80's early 90's desires!

Goofle
Hi all!
Just a quick hello from South Yorkshire in the UK.
I've got a J reg'd 851, which although it seems in good condition needs a bit of work and research if I was to get it back as standard. I must say that's the (long term) plan however!
The 851 joins a (K reg) M900, a 1299S and a Kawasaki ZZR1100 (am I allowed to mention none Italian bikes?!?) in the garage!
Anyhow, thanks for having me and prepare for a barrage of hopefully none to many silly questions!
Goofle.

Welcome Goofle, there does seem to be quite a hotspot for 851/888's in Yorkshire.

Newbie
Morning all, newbie here, Norfolk...sadly no longer got a 888, tho I did have an SP2 ( number 260) which was written off a week after I had completely renovated it. The engine ended up going to California to a guy called Chas F Biswanger the 3rd.....as he was upgrading his 888. So if anyone knows of this chap or he is a member here it'd be good to hear how it all went....
I still have a 999 and 900ss, and a few engines, frames etc, and the plan is to build a more modern take on a TT2...so the research has just begun....
Cheers

Hello,
New on the forum, I make a quick presentation.
Christophe, 56, I live in France.
I have a 1992 Ducati 900SS since 1995, a Ducati 888 Strada from 1994 and a Ducati 888 SP4 (# 377) for a few days.
As my English is fairly mediocre, I beg you to apologize in advance.
Chris.

Not new, but not been on for ages
Hello
I have an 888 (with the "unusually orientated" lanfranconis) currently looking sorry for itself after falling over at the Manx in 2014.
Adding a small child to the equation has somewhat prevented doing stuff
Looking for bodywork
