Hi Mike,

I have a frame that looks very similar to your 533 frame. I'm curious as to how he fixed it. The ol' heat and bend or the cut and replace or a combination of the two?

I made a fixture using my perfectly straight frame as a pattern and at some point will try and repair the bent one.

I don't know if he has fixed it yet, they were very busy with Moto GP and WSB work for several different manufacturers. He made the frame originally so he will be putting it back on their jig and cutting out and replacing the right main tube as there is a kink above the rear engine mount. He reckoned that the head stock may pull straight again, but possibly not.

While I was there they showed me several other 851 and 888 frames that they were fixing, including some a lot worse than mine.

Started my big bike life on a 1000 3C ( mid 80:s, still have it). Looked around for any sporty Italian that I could afford. I really wanted a MHR or a Pantha but they where out of my price range. I was close to buy a TL 500 wich probably would made me hate ducatis for ever 😄.
After that I got some more Lavs (Mirage, Alpinos) and the Mirage became my rolling project.
2002 the Mirage engine more or less blow up. I was in the middle of a house project and did not have any time to fiddle with bikes. I thought I could live with a "just fill up gas and ride" bike so I bought a TRX. Nice bike but something was missing. What do toy do with a trx during the 6-8 month of season in sweden???
So i ended up with a bike (a lookalike any way) that won the last superbike race in sweden/anderstorp 92. And a paso and a ssie.....
I can recomend the Lavs for anyone who wants an italian classic. At least in sweden they ar far cheaper than any bevel.

My mirage just before engine blow up and engine rebuild for my 3C (1130cc Jota cams, 36mm dellortos etc.)
