That kit looks pretty sparse, mainly just the 'consumables'. By the time the 'Kit' was available most of the race bikes, in the US at least, had either obtained trickle-down parts from the factory or moved past the kit parts. The first shipment of Kit bikes in the US arrived at Daytona during bike week....unassembled and in two crates. I think there were four, but my memory is suspect; Reno, Ferracci and ? The next few, including mine, arrived about two weeks later somewhat more assembled!

Bike finally arrived. I had AMS of Dallas TX tune her up and change the belts. Now all I need is a little nice weather to see how she rides. It sounds great! Beautiful exhaust note.

Tires are original I think and I will only ride it to keep her in rideable condition, and keep her going in a semi straight line. I have other bikes that can lean way over but not this one.

I bought - and still have the kit pictured below.
The eBay seller also had the '92 851 I bought.

Since I purchased I've done a bit of research and concluded that there is some ambiguity as to what a "851 Kit" comprised... I think there is some uncertainty between the "851 kit" and the Factory race kit. Someone here should know more...

What was included in what I got was:
New pistons, rings, pins / clips, and cylinders - high comp 94mm
2 intake / 2 exhaust cams "A" grind
4 intake / 4 exhaust valves 33mm / 29mm
4 eproms
ceramic coated header pipes 45 / 50mm
cylinder gasket

I wish to sell the entire kit as my 851 is for sale. I have not listed this anywhere as yet.

I can take better fotos / verify p/ns if there is an interest in buying. I'll offer at $1K USD.

Those parts look like kit (definition = a set of parts to be assembled or worked up...for reference see http://www.ducati851and888.com/attac...9&d=1338632324) for a Kit ( definition = the 1988 851 Superbike homologation model, as opposed to the 1988 851 Strada model).
