I contacted that guy about making more carriers. His response was that he made those for himself, and there was no money in it. So he would not make any more.

But, MotoWheels has been planning a group buy to make replacement carriers. They finally got ten people lined up and will start production soon. There is still opportunity to get on board.

Only 3 days ago he was on the UK Ducati Forum talking about selling them??

EDIT...I've just had a reply from him saying that it wouldn't be a problem knocking out some more as they've got the program now, he's based in New Zealand.

I looked into getting some made but couldn't find enough people interested, then I found that we could still get them (complete discs) made up from parts by the UK Brembo importer.
I got my Brembo "Trackday" discs from that source, they've got the same centers but are hard anodised a grey colour with steel rotors, these were about 60% of the price of the gold centered cast iron OEM type.

Recently on this forum a member "trogg888" posted that the complete discs were still available via Ducati, but at a price! 😯

Flinty aka Gavin also on here recently got some for his SP4 from Pro Twins in the SE UK, he mentioned the price to me I can't recall how much, but do remember thinking that it wasn't that bad.

Yes I am quite happy to make more sets if there is demand. I made the first sets for myself and a few mates and a couple of people who heard we were making then via forums. No problem supplying anywhere around the world. All the sets from the first production run are spoken for. They are currently going through our two step hard anodizing coloring process. We hard anodize to get a much harder finish and then we use a secondary process to make them gold ( you can't do hard anodizing and get a gold finish with out a secondary process). We make the carriers from 7075-t6 billet. Again because it's much harder wearing than the soft alloy the originals were made from. The price per carrier is $345 New Zealand dollars.

All the rotors from my first batch have now been hard anodised and this is a picture of the first disc that has also gone through the second stage colouring process. The colour is not a perfect match but then again their doesn't seem to have been perfect consistency in the original carriers. I have two sets of originals here that are distinctly different gold colours.

If we had tried to gold anodise the 7075-T6 alloy that we used for these discs we would have got a different gold colour from the original gold anodising on the softer 6000 series alloy because the type of alloy used effects the colouring. In addition it is impossible to hard anodise in gold. (You can only achieve much darker colours).

I was determined to use a much harder and stronger alloy than the original soft alloy AND to hard anodise them to give these a diamond hard finish that would have a much longer wear life than the originals.

Subsequent to the hard anodising we are using a proprietary colouring process on these that allows us to hard anodise them and achieve a reasonably close match to the original gold colour. I am thrilled with how this process has turned out. The final gold finish is very tough and chemically resistive We did some scratch testing on the finaly gold finish today and I can report it is toughter than the gold finsh on the original sets we used for comaparison ....and of course underneath our is also the hard anodising and the 70575-T6 Ergal. It's belts and braces and braces...These should last many years longer than that original two sets I have worn out on my bike.

Just got the rest of the carriers back from the second stage of the hard anodizing/coloring process. We tweaked the process slightly from the sample shown in my previous post above and we now have an excellent colour match with the originals (except that our ones are hard anodized unlike the originals).

They are all ready to ship out the door.

I have already mounted up my old cast iton rotors on to one of the sets of carriers for my own bike. I Couldn't be happier with the finished product.

I doubt I will notice any difference in braking - but it will be great to have the peace of mind that the old assemblies aren't going to fly apart when I need them most.

Just wanted to say these are fantastic, mine have arrived today and they are spot on, fit is fantastic, and the colour is close enough. When I get the disc's clean I'll post a picture as soon as I have them together with the new TPO parts.

Four days delivery from New Zealand as well.

We will probably start the next run tomorrow.

I see that another company has announced they are also going to make some from the same 7075 alloy that we are using, but I see no mention of them doing them hard anodising them (We believe the hard anodising is what will really give the discs the hard wearing characteristics. We even looked at making them out of cheaper and easier to machine 6061 alloy and hard anodising that but were concerned it might just be putting a hard egg shell on a soft material.

We are going to do a bigger production run this time around to keep the costs down.

How do you separate rotors from carriers ? drill out buttons ??, grind them or cut them ???

On the reverse of the disc I just carefully ground the e clip of the back of the buttons. You could actually ping the e clip of if you remove the dab of glue from the back. I think they are made of some carbon steel maybe, and can most defiantly be used again. I just went for the TPO ones as there alloy with st/st washers and e clips.

P.S the cast iron disc parts are not new.
