lordmoonpie Hey Paul, I for one think it's brilliant you're using the SP3 on the Island. Not sure I'll be able to make it this year due to wife's redundancy but the sight and sound of a big twin on the TT course is special and when you know it's a limited SP it all adds to the magic. Good on you for using it like it's meant to be used and I hope I get to see you on it! Twins go very well around there as did the singles, it's all about reliability not max rpm or HP. As an example, f you look at the winning classic Hondas at the Manx in the last ten years, almost all of them ran standard cranks. Lightened cranks and fast spinning engines fail very quickly over there... If you need any vinyl graphics for the bike on the Island, let me know in good time and I'll do them for you as sponsorship!
JImmySL Good on you! look forward to seeing how you get on, would love to see one of my same bikes going round the Island 😎
Jafa Good luck for the event, can't wait to see your pics 😄 SpeedTherapy wroteHi Brad Maybe. But there were more than 600 of them made534 actually. I'll take my anorak off now.......
oilyfinger Top man for using an SP, indeed they're collectible surely better to use it than sitting in a garage covered up and not used/admired. years ago a mate bought a mint 10k, one old lady owner, Mk1 mini to go racing for about 5-6k. I thought it was out of order to use it. But he cut the floor pan out, fitted a full weld in cage and put it all back together. As he said, start from a good base, with a shell which is never welded or crashed, that has no rust. Good luck, I may well try and make it over to watch. . . . .
