Whilst a track day in South of France, I met a guy on his racing 900 SS 1995.
The bike had the OEM oil radiator down and a second one (OEM too), above the horizontal head.
Both were connected together with a small tap.
Interesting !!!!

I was just pointing out that I know nothing about whether the twin oil cooler set up works , but I assumed Baines do , all the items were on the bike when I bought it , and I have found out various bits along the rebuild, which have turned out to be nice extras.

The Baines Boys definitely know what they're doing.

But like Phil's mentioned it's not unknown for owners to fit either an on/off tap or an inline thermostat to the 2nd cooler, to prevent over cooling of the oil in cooler weather/temp's.

I've got a thin alloy plate that I cable tye over the oil cooler on my 900 Bevel during the colder months of the year.
