Brilliant!-- each one of those bikes are iconic in their own way. Fantastic!!!
You series of pictures got me to thinking for the first time --that the 888's are aging a bit better then the 851's-- and I am a long long time fan of the 851!
Viper1
I want them all 😎

Now that's a group of bikes, holy mackerel! I've been studying the photo of the Lucchinelli replica for about two hours now and am not getting anything done. It's the first photo of one I've seen that clearly shows the front sub-frame mounting. You can see that it really is an '88 Kit with the factory race mods factory installed, and a more handsome (IMO) all red paint job. What a bike, it's even wearing my favorite grips, so I wouldn't have to change a thing. If you ever have the bodywork off, please take more photos.

A sea of red...Beautiful!!😄
Mr.R
Hells bells Scott,
That's almost the full set of factory specials.
I'm sure the Supermono was (is?) a hoot to ride, but would I be right in guessing the late model Corse 888/926? was the best of the 851/888's to ride?
It being at the end of the development program.

Mr Bumble
Scott thanks for the trip down memory lane, being at yours and seeing these very beautifully bikes before my own very eyes. I hope that that the 'wee nip' in the air is not too severe! It also seems like one of the family is missing though, has it gone for a wonder?
I shall contact you soon about the other thing, I am sure that we can come to an agreement, Alan.

So why the heck God created Women, when there is so much beauty in the world like these 851/888 😳

The 851 has the quintessential racebike look, it's timeless and pure, almost as if nobody designed it, it just HAD to be that way.
The supermono looks very considered, like it was made to look stylish. Maybe that aspect of its detailing might 'date' it.
The period when these bikes were new, Mid 80's to mid 90's, the state of the art racing motorcycle was a product of engineering, aerodynamics, material technology and computational fluid dynamics.
Take a look at the progression of these Honda racebikes 1985, 87, 88, 92, 97.
They have a purposeful appearance, that the 851 shares.
The only truly aerodynamic bikes were the old dustbin lid racers of the 50's, like this Moto Guzzi streamliner, but the rule makers decided that no bodywork should project forward of the front wheel and that put and end to that.
Just my opinion,
I also say, Scott, respect to you for getting busy filling your life with things that please you.
One question though, why no RRR, Or is it just a question of time?
Terry
Mr Bumble
So Scott, perhaps the family has swelled, I will try to call you later if my time and the clocks are in synch.
