That's a fantastic looking bike you have there and #1 to boot! My brother has a yellow SL which has gone the opposite route to keeping it standard with FCR's and lots of engine work.

I have a real soft spot for those Superlights.

Sold my dads 'abused' MK 1 last year and I regret the sale. An easy restoration compared to an 851.

great bike. I think may be a little to under rated... the engine has such useable power you can deliver a few surprises to the modern tackle... always on the lookout for a good Mk1.

OMG, that is a gorgeous Superlight. They only came to the USA in Yellow, and I always wanted the Red one. I would love to find one JUST like your's.
I had to settle for an SP model which I have nicely modified (pictures in my profile), but I have always lusted after the Red Superlight.

You see quite a few over here especially at Ducati club events, they're quite popular as they can be found for not much money, a lot have been "Hotted up" with FCR'S etc.

It's amazing how advanced that Trans Am is, considering all the other cars at that time looked like this 😉

That looks like an early model with RTS [Radial Tuned Suspension] really terrible Suspension . I had a 1977 Trans Am with RTS and a 6.6 Litre engine. Great fun.

Just joined the forum recently and came accorss this thread.

I have a mk1 superlight, picture attached a standard 750ss and a modified 900ss and only just moved to 4valve techknowlogy with the 851.

Your suplerlight looks very nice indeed.

good question. the last time I saw one was probably 6 years ago and that was a good, but distant, friend's and that was in his garage. on the road? probably 10 years for me.
