851 project 1993

Here's my 851 project.
I picked up most of the bits last weekend.
I'm just buiding up to make sure stuff fits etc
Then the 916 top end will be fitted.
Airbox, tubes etc are on the way.
Keeping a eye on a full body kit!

As Steve B (904red) has explained to me......
I'm never going to find the rear mudguard/under seat unit ?
But he tells me someone makes a carbon undertray ?
Which would leave me to find or fabricate a tail tidy type bracket.

Do you mean the seat pad ? It's just a temp superlight corbin which fits poor tbh.

I have both a spare original undertray and a carbon one on a bike if you need one to copy. Pretty sure Sp2 boy must make them/

It's now running and will be ready for a MOT 😄 Hopefully next week!

I think the ST2 bottom end and ST4 Top end will work well at 944cc with plenty of torque 😄

The only parts i need to complete are the 2 air scoops which fit in the front/nose fairing if anyone has a spare set for sale ?

Getting very close now and just waiting on clocks to arrive from Cornwall and then the hard part to find a electronic rev counter which fits the 80mm hole bezel.

Did Steve B tell you about my almost F'cked up weekend visiting him?
Got a puncture, forgot who my recovery was with so had to join the AA just to get home (105 miles)...
FFS it cost me over a weeks wages but it still didn't spoil my weekend. 😎

Still I returned home with a narrow ST2 sprocket carrier but...
It's not "Just a drop in part", it'll need machining/spacers and sleave made before I can fit my lighter 5 spoke rear wheel.
At this very moment I'm surrounded by 3 different sprocket carriers, 3 rear wheelsl/one of them the 5 spoke, various new bearings, rear discs in 3 different designs, various spacers and a F'kin punture repair mushroom.
The Michelin tyre fitter at work gave me the mushroom and said to be sure to steam out the Tyre Weld from the tyre before fitting it and NEVER EVER TRY TYRE WELD AGAIN!!!!!
The rubber plug that I fitted at Steve B's glue melted when the Tyre Weld hit it and the plug exited somewhere down the A303 near Crewkern at 80+ MPH leaving a 1/4" hole in the centre of the tread 😯 and the back of the bike was covered in dirty latex rubber...
BOLLOX BIG TIME!
Still when it all goes back together the bike will have lost another couple of lbs.

The ST2 Clocks don't look right Mate and out of place!
Bought Pablo's set of 3 dial SS ones and the st2 clocks are up for sale so cost nothing to get the original look!

Steve B told me about your puncture etc and leaving the pub at 2.30am 😎

Are the 5 spokes st4 or SSie (ohlins later model) ?

The SSie ones are the same width as a brembo wheel ?

I asked a old race mate about the slim sprocket carrier and he said the slim version was only fitted to the monster 900 injection wheels because the sprocket/output shaft was a different length.
