No reply as to the lack of ground clearance on the Magnum's, the outer crank covers would deck out if you were really on it, the race bikes had the cases shaved or chopped off and "piggy back" ignitions/charging systems fitted to get around this.
The P+M frames of the day were far superior/won a lot more races and championships, the Harris's did handle very well though and were very pretty.

I cant say i ever had a problem with ground clearance, I suppose after the stock Z1000 the Harris was such a great improvement we didn't notice. amazed you could get the alternator cover down all the same. strangely my ,mate had a Z1000 in a P&M and the argument about which was best will never be resolved :-)
