1968 Bonnie that was brilliant, fairly standard apart from Paioli shocks and later front end

Yoshimura Honda 500/4 with the works 600 Yoshi liners and pistons, cams + proper cam bearings, heads worked, Yoshi 4 into 1 system - Was the fastest thing around in Mid Wales at the time, nothing to touch it for a year or two until I got bored and swapped it for a KDX175 enduro bike...and that will be a picture for another time

this is a Magnum 2 with a stock 900SS front end and a Z1000 engine with a wiseco 1100cc conversion. Dyna ignition, custom made wheels and converted Yoshi exhaust

Before that i had a Suzuki 250, 2x 380's , BSA Rocket, Honda 740/4 etc but then i realised there is nothing like building your own bike -)

I have a 63 Thunderbird complete with original bathtub in my " shed " Totally stripped, painted and now ready to put together this winter if I can get around to it. I was told by the Triumph Owners Club it was worth restoring so I am, It was a lovely bike to ride before I stripped it.

Better to own up to these things, get it out in the open.
I had several bikes that I'm quite happy not to own any more, this was one of the nicer ones, and the girls liked it 😉
You hear: a bathtub '63 Thunderbird is worthy enough to restore, this will be next, but I'm glad it won't be me doing it though, if it still exists 😯

No, just a Git. Actually if you look carefully that picture must have been when i sold it because the tax disc says 94 and you can just make out a Tech 21 Exup behind and i only had both for a year or so. Yea maybe i was a flash git 😄

For those that want to build a Harris you need a bedroom and a sitting room

Take one frame and collect the bits you need like forks etc and stick it all together in front of the TV...

You need an engine so pop down the scrap yard

Pull it to bits at the end of the bed

Pop down to the APE specialists in New Forest, forget his name an buy lots of gaskets and nice bits, send barrels off to TTS for Wiseco 1100 kit and stick it all back together

Then being Flash...park it next to your EXUP....( it was the 90's)

And if you think i gave in and bought a ready made bike in the form of an EXUP ?? think again :-)

I have loads of pictures of my builds over the years...one day i need to scan them but i will not bore you lot :-)

Not bike related but... I once rented a ground floor flat with a couple of mates. My room had french doors out onto the garden. I had a Mk 2 Triumph 2500PI at the time and I used to drive whichever end needed working on into my room...

Blimey my memory is not that good. Best i can say is its a Honda No. 10 and the bike in the picture next to it is a Rothmans NSR Honda No.9 and that was Mick Doohan i think

EDIT Wayne Gardner was spat off the NSR most races ??

Those 500s sorted the men from the boys, Garder was definantly the former...
