You had me going for a moment there I thought you were talking about a real Classic 900SS Bevel, but it turned out to be just a "Bandy 900"...😉

TBH I think those radial braked Ohlins look completely out of place on that bike, or our 851/888's.

Nice. I used to have a standard one just like it in '97 (I bought it new, then put termi's and a Stage 2 dynojet on it).

I'd have it back in an instant.

Always looking for a good mk1 superlight. Just dont see them as often as you used to. I know the difference is minimal to a standard ss but its the only yellow bike I could consider! Good buy, have a go on a db2 if you get the chance!

I just bought a set of Brembo Billet 40mm calipers and am having brackets made to replace the radial set-up as we speak. I can't live with the radial look either. Anyone want to buy a pair of Brembo radial calipers?

I know, yellow's OK, but it ain't red. 95 SS/SP body work and tank coming from a decent source together with a mono tail set-up. If anyone is interested, I will be selling the 5 spoke marchesini wheels and the STM EVO slipper. I'll post them on the classified section later. The biggest surprise when I got it, is that it came with a full 50mm Termignoni spagetti exhaust system. Super happy.

Now I'm puzzled, and most likely misinterpreting your post. Are you having brackets made to adapt conventional calipers to the Ohlins radial caliper mounting on the fork bottoms? Hard to picture that as being a better look.

I also have an Ohlins shock for these - they help, and add some rear ride height which these bikes need.

See if I can post a pic of my modded 900SS. Yes red is nice, but the yellow looks just fine...

A little motor work, add lightness, and they really go well. This one will easily run with my 851.

Hang on to that Termi system! They are IMPOSSIBLE to find nowadays, and really make a modded / Hi Comp motor come alive.

Paul aka "Pablo Pirate" on this forum has a much modified 900SL/Superlight.
His runs complete carbon bodywork, Fuelcell kevlar tank, BST Carbon wheels, Poncy wavy discs 😉,848/1098 frontend, Balistic battery, along with a lot of other extremely lightweight parts and a CJS tuned/blueprinted ST3 115rwbhp 80+ftlbs motor.

Now that IS a serious bit of kit! But don't tell him I said that...😏

I'm getting rid of the radial set up and going with a traditional axial set up. I have to have brackets made to screw/clamp into the bottom of the fork as they are old R&T forks. I believe they were a universal design for Ducks, Hondas, et all for a radial set up.

I have the same front end set up on my 888.
Didn't particularly want to go with the radial set up as I prefer the traditional axial set up.
Problem was I couldn't source axial brackets.
I have kept my original showa front end so still have the original calipers and discs.
Curious to know if getting the axial brackets made is expensive and if I could get a set from wherever you are getting them made? Are you getting them made to suit the radial/disc offset or are you reverting to original axial/disc offset?

Strewth Steve! Your right, Pablos' SS is the uk bench mark I reckon!
Mine is basic in comparison!
flat slides, hi comp pistons, 916 front end, single seat.
Mine started off life as a 750. So has an engine swap, rear and front wheel swap to!
Interested to read about life from the author of the post and his new SS

I'm getting them made to revert to the original axial/disc look. I was quoted $200 US for the brackets, which is actually pretty good considering Ohlins wanted upwards of $450 a few years ago. They no longer make them. I'll call my mate who owns Desmoto Sport in San Francisco on Monday and find out about getting a second set made if you're interested. Let me know.

Definitely interested and happy to pay that money for them.

Might be able to help you guys that are wanting to change from Ohlins radial to a axial setup - I have a set of Ohlins lowers with a 65mm axial brackets (they are from the older RSVR type forks). These should fit on direct to the inner tube on the radial forks (I think).
