Hi Mark, I saw a ad in Walnecks? cycle trader (1996), Augie had listed 2 SP3's, a SP2 along with the RRR, 89 corsa (that Ferracci race in 1990) some F1 's and bevels and others, My friend talked to him, we were after the SP3's but they were already sold. He mailed us a list of what he had left along with the photos of the RRR and 1989 corsa 001 ( I know there is a 001 at the Ducati Museum, thats how murcky some of this vintage stuff gets) that was sold at a Bonhams Auction last year in Cal. I have never seen a another Agip sticker like that either maybe Augie added the formula moto part. He did tell my friend that it was unused/new . The photos are dated 95. The shipping crate with all the spares that were supplied came with the bike.

I know its an ancient thread bit did the original question get answered - I'm looking for a set of preferably pre preg, not wet lay, carbon panels that eliminate the cross support in the upper nose cone.

Nose cone stiffness

Here is my take on the nose cone stiffness issue.
Picture 1, org corse nose cone. Very thin and super light, inside a rather thick beam, 7-8 mm. Looks like a foam profile covered w CF.. ( not very nice finish inside, but stiff enough I recon.
I have been thinking doing similar on the cheap GF cones.. a foam ie Polypropylene** covered w 1 layer of fine wet fiber.. (it's all about making a profile with a stiff skin/shell.
** a PP would not collapse due to resin / chemical exposure, where many materials ie eps, abs etc will melt in seconds.

My 2 cents & legal disclaimer ; I have not done it yet ;-)

Stig-- the factory used thin Hexel sheet for the reinforcement- glued it down and then laid a sheet of carbon cloth over it. This was a common construction practice in the aero wolrd.

Honey comb - yes !

yes mark , a honeycomb material would be the way to go .. just browsed the net, plenty of sources of 1/4 inch 3D bendable sheets out there .. I'll have a go at it when time allows
