Terry - I also wonder-- do you have a larger version of that picture?
There are a few bits like Polen's name painted on my fork leg, and that number 1 that provides some forensic proof. But there were three other bikes that year so I cannot say for sure that mine is one of the two bikes Polen rode during the AMA season. I do have the parts to restore mine as his bike-so I am going to but unless I can get confirmation from Mr Ferracci I will not claim it as a Polen bike.
I have not done much more on the bike as I was searching for and waiting for parts---but here are some pictures of where I am at moment. I have the black precision Veglia mechanical tach that Polen used on his bike in '91- see page 37 in the Conti book. It was used on some of the factory bikes-I have a picture of this tach in the factory museum.
I also found a carbon battery box that was used on the factory bikes rather then the aluminum versions used on the Customer Racing bikes.-thanks Mike.
Also in the pictures the carbon parts have the green cast that I remember seeing on many of the early carbon bits. I have always associated the green cast with autoclaved process.
As you can tell I am keeping the motor and many of the parts the way they came to me- race worn.
