Never let the truth get in the way of a good story...
Harris were already building the TTF2 chassis for Steve Wynne's Sports Motorcycles Racing, when he commisioned them to build a chassis for the old Bevel motors, giving them design parameters like rising rate monoshock, rear head to be able to be removed with the motor still in the frame etc...
So the chassis was designed by Harris Engineering.
The completed kits were then sold through Sports Racing, or you could commision Steve Wynne to build a complete machine.
I built one of these bikes for a customer, I've still got all of the sales brochures, price lists and some road tests etc.
They were nice road bikes apart from the riders complaining of burnt inside right knees, where they touched the upper bevel cover, but the wheelbase was a bit long for track work.
Andy Sidlow made a better chassis for racing "The Sidlow Special"* that had some success on the track in the UK and Europe, it was usually the 1st Bevel home with Dave Railton riding it after the more nimble TTF2's most of which had been converted to 750cc.
*These came with either a rising rate rearend or a twin shock set up.
I also built one of these for a mate who still owns it, it was a much better bike to ride IMO.
It was featured in a few of the UK Mororcycle mag's at the time and an Italian mag' when it was spotted at the WDW2000
