What cool bikes Bimota's were in the 70's --90's
brad black wrotewe had a sb4 in years ago for some reason that i had to ride. allegedly with a yoshi kit, etc. really let me down, much like a vfr1000r. can't see what anyone liked about them, but then again this was 10 or more years after their day and stuff came a whole long way in the late 80's.
the sb3 isn't as wacky looking as the sb2. the 2 is quite bizarre in places.
Indeed..... while Bimota frames and hardware were ground breaking in their time, the Japanese motors seriously lacked the flavor to go along with the Italian designs.
Agreed.... the SB3 was quite sedate vs the SB2 which has become quite the collectable these days.......but sadly it has a appliance Japanese motor.
Today, I much prefer the all Italian Bimota's. DB1, DB2 and the incredible Tesi. I've ridden all three and much prefer the DB2 for so many reasons if one is going to ride it.
No doubt the Tesi will be the one to have if you want what Bimota really stood for, but it's not a rider.
