Ben Bostrom
I just posted the Ducati 888 SPS No.15 on the Classifieds.
The previous owner asked at the Factory if it was a real SPS, by sending them the Frame and Engine Numbers.
They also couldn´t confirm, because the Numbers didn´t match in their books.
If anyone is interested in those No.15 Numbers, send me a PM.
P.S.
I´m very - very sorry to hear about that SPS No.002 Story....
We really could do without such Guys!😡

Nocaster wroteHello, With all do respect, if I owned ANY 888 SPS I would make sure all the numbers were a matter of public record and exactly who owned it. Marc should be very foreward in getting his bike in particular documented for all to see so that any pretenders dare not attempt to manufacture another #002. By starting a registry all true 888 SPS's would be documented with full history and the pretenders would not have a chance. Surely as someone who actually sent funds to Marc I had the right to know the engine and frame number of my own bike! I am learning more and more about Marc Veld and the what I'm hearing is not good. Thank you for your input.
Francesco, I got the impression that you got me wrong.
I really understand that you would like to know those numbers, since you can check with ducati if the numbers are correct. Specially this totally original bike.
But what can people do with these numbers? Can they copy them easily?
So why is the list of Ains not public? Or lists of other SP's...?

No worries mate. I guess where there is a will there is a way in terms of copying numbers and then creating fake SPS's using parts and the numbers from other real SPS's. Look elsewhere on the 851 888 forum and see that even the factory cannot confirm SPS number 015!! The numbers the factory have for the bike do not match! I think the list that Ains is putting together is not ready yet, Ains encourages people to check with him to verify numbers in the meantime. To be honest all this has left me a little cold on 888's, I know I should not have that attitude but at the moment this is how I feel.

sad story there , sorry to hear this 🙁
as mentionned earlier , you should notify dutch Police and European regulation authorities in order to have a record on this guy and methods .
if anybody did previous records , this could help to have some investigations .
902 euros on a deposit of 6900 euros , you should have some papers on the transfert to provide .......
good luck

Nocaster,
Mate gutted !!!
Simple if there is any cash still out standing that you owed then get your self on a flight out of Italy & go and confront Marc face to face.
What is your is yours and its not as though he had any other buyers bashing down the doors to purchase the bike while your deposit was in his account 😁
It's another heart reaching story as the world is full of bustards that cannot make a simple transaction come off.
I am dealing with a couple of blokes just now who are in Holland and they are absolute Gents to a deal with, nothing but straight shooters and willing to bend over back wards to assist where they can.
Unfortunately I do not know any one who can walk into the Marc's store and bang a couple of base ball bats around the inertia which would assist with the prompt return of your remainder deposit.
In hind sight a flight into Holland and confronting the man face to face would be the first thing on my priority list if it was me mate 😄

Thank you for the support. I have contacted the Dutch police and explained the situation to them, as well I'll be having Marc served with legal papers sooner than later. I don't care what it costs but I'll make it so he'll have to sell that bike for 100,000 Euro just to pay his legal bills! I'm finding more and more about Mr Marc Veld, for example he did a bit of jail time because of a stolen Ducati's racket. I guess he got out because of lack of evidence, apparently nobody in Holland wants anything to do with him. I'm going to have the satisfaction of being a huge thorn in Marc Velds side, everybody will know about this guy and stay away. Plus I'm still leaving the baseball bat option open mate! Cheers.

good to hear you will not leave this guy without news from you ...think we're all with you on this process.
Baseball should remain the very last option , indeed ......

(desmopoint@hotmail.com) is the e-mail of a gentleman who lives in Holland named Joop. His phone number in Holland is 0031 528 279 772, he is someone who was selected (Because of his expertise with Ducat's) by the police in Holland to help them with an investigation into the ways of Marc Veld. I spoke to Joop by phone this morning and I was alarmed and amazed at what he told me. Apparently Marc Veld Spent 3 months in a Holland jail for being the ring leader of a Ducati theft ring. During one round of the Superbike races held in Holland a bunch of bikes were stolen, including SP5's, Sp4's, 996 SPS's etc..Marc Veld would then part out the bikes through Moto Stretta and sell them to buyers. Joop was part of the police team that investigated Marc Veld and as such has first hand information about EXACTLY what took place. He saw photos, whole bikes, parts, and even phone taps! He is willing to share this information with anyone, and urges Ducati people everywhere to have nothing to do with marc Veld or his shop Moto Stretta. Based on what Joop has told me, what I've gone through, and the various private e-mails sent to me by others in this forum I agree! I just wish others who had negative experiences with Marc had come forward sooner, this way we all could have avoided Moto Stretta and Marc Veld before he did any real damage or theft. I urge every Ducati owner to spread the word about Marc Veld and Moto Stretta. As for me I have filed a police report, contacted a law firm in Holland etc.. I want to make sure he does not get away clean from this one, he will have to respond to the charges I am making and that will cost him. Plus his company Moto Stretta will forever be tainted, apparently nobody in Holland will have anything to do with him. Now we just have to make sure the rest of the world does not either!

You should Multi post on the big Ducati forums. I wouldn't put Joops details in but. That should be enough to shit Marc off that's for sure.

PS Be careful of Liable. You don't want to end up in court.

This whole tale of woe is very sad but should be a lesson for everyone who is interested in buying a bike on line should read. I find it hard to believe that someone, anyone would be prepared to part with 40k euro without not only seeing the bike but getting all the numbers and verifying them with ducati. And i'm not convinced that ducati can't verify a genuine bike because of their system, it's more likely it's not genuine. Add to that there's plenty of folk here quite happy to warn anyone who asks just what a scumbag this marc from motostretta is, and i shake my head in dismay that this occurred at all.
BEFORE you send a deposit, look at the bike, or get a licensed broker to inspect it for you, Get the numbers and have them verified, and last but not least, ASK! ask members with more experience and personal dealings for their experiences, sure one or maybe two might have a personal axe to grind but usually if that's the case there will be overwhelming support from everyone who loves the guy, i haven't seen anything but widespread condemnation about MOTOSTRETTA in this case.
Sure, it's easy to be clever and critical after the event but really, it's all common sense stuff and i'd say if most of the guys and girls on here were looking at spending that sort of cash then they would do the above as a minimum.
Sorry for your troubles Nocaster, but remember, this forum is full of very helpful people who know a LOT about our favourite bikes, don't be afraid to mine the wealth of knowledge available.

Hello Paul,
You're absolutely right. I should have gotten on a plane myself and seen for myself exactly what the deal was, and for that I take the blame. It's just that I have bought and sold in my life perhaps 100 different bikes over the years and never has anything like this occured, even when dealing from acrross the pond! I should say that at this point due (I believe) to the response from people around the world to this situation that Marc Veld now offers an open invitation to anyone to go see the bike if they dispute that it's real. The problem is that at this point and as far as things have gone I just want my money back. I know I was not responsible for costing Marc a sale as no one else was interested in the bike at the same time as me. Given that, I don't know why I cannot have the funds I sent (Minus a small administrative fee) back. As I say, I had no problem with the sale of the bike until I could not get the numbers I asked for. I think it's a different story if a buyer has all the numbers etc..and then just has buyers remorse mon ths later and does not follow through with a sale. In that case I would side with any dealership and the policy's they would employ. I hope for all Ducati enthusiasts SPS 002 is real, it would be great! Thank you for your thoughts and support Paul!
Cheers,
Francesco

Marc Veld
Dear All,
A story always has two sides at least and in our world one we should allways hear both sides. I was just called by Marc Veld because I expressed my interest once in his SPS # 002! He offered me to show the original manuals that state at which Dutch dealer the bike was sold new, to hand over the name and adress of the first owner and if a deal was made and a price agreed to put the money in an account with a notary waiting for verification by anybody including the factory!
Why would he offer this in case the numbers wouldn't match?
Regards,
Mic
griff851
How much does he want you to lay down as a deposit?
The thing that gets me, is that if it was a real one, why doesn't he have it already verified if it's worth so much and so rare. You should ask him to get it verified and you'll talk cash.
Griff

If the bike is real, with nearly 7000 euros as a deposit would it not have been easier to furnish nocaster with the frame and engine numbers in the first place...something stinks! 😳
passie
that bike aint real.. he sold more SP4 and SP4S then there were ever build by Ducati..

agreed with Passie
or Mark is maybe the only guy on earth having two SPS #2
why not ? 😉

Contacts
Hmm,
Put your hands up if you have not spoken with Marc V, I mentioned some time back when I had the displeasure of chatting with him about the SPS, the conversation at its best was so Fucked up & debauched the alarm bells went of like a Sunday church quire.
Interestingly he must have some stroke if he was able to yank the chains on the previous charges, even though he spent some time in the clinker.
At the end of the day Nocaster and any other purchaser will now do the need full and verify the numbers via Ducati as we all have done for years.
From my side I have never purchased a limited example of a Ducati from any person until such confirmed e-mails were returned from the guys at Ducati.
Guys the contact is below and the Lady's who are very willing to assist where they can are Beatrice & Claudia

Agreed........ unless one knows he full story of a bike along with proper documentation, the days of internet trust are long over.
