griff851 wroteI have troubles with all the SP's I don't like the fairing number boards on the SP4's sides. Not real impressed with roller bearing mains. Not keen on seat units that go all the way down to the rearsets. Gold wheels like white wheels show up too much chain lube and dirt, but do look cool when clean. Ohlins forks are famous for leaking.
If I had to chose one I think it would be the SP5 because it doesn't have side number boards and won't wee on the garage floor, but those roller main bearing would have come out.
But as we were not allowed to have SP4's or 5's here, I'm making my own version, that won't wee on the floor and has no number boards at all.

SP4 and 5's were officially imported here, not many, but they were, the ohlins leak, yes, but only when they're left standing, use the bike and they don't leak. i'm not too keen on the big seat unit of the earlier SP's either but the SP3 is a beautiful bike, as for the roller mains, well, it's rare they fail so i'm not sure what there is to dislike about them but each to their own, i love the number boards on the 4. I'm with you though, to get the best SP you have to build your own, expensive? yes. get your money back? probably not. Knowing it's exactly what you want? ohh yes!
