An Introduction...

Hi All- I am brand new here. I’ve had a few interesting Ducatis in my younger days (A modified F1 750 & a Darmah 900 SD Super Sport), but I just picked up a 1992 851 Strada at an auction. The 851/ 888 was always a dream bike for me, and I still have original brochures from when I stalked the local Ducati dealership in the early 90s.

The Strada I purchased has been sitting for a number of years at a car museum in L.A., so I’m planning on doing a full service, fluids, new belts and battery, once I get her home later this month. I’m sure I’ll have some questions and parts requests once I fully know what I’ve gotten myself into!

@HeyItsJay welcome! Pls post some pics of that lovely bike! I used to own a Strada as well. Awesome bike. Are you in the Socal area? I am in San Clemente.

I’m in the SF Bay Area, but the bike was part of the Zimmerman Museum in El Segundo that closed.
My buddy in Pasadena is holding the bike for me till I get down that the end of the month to pick it up.

HeyItsJay Thats super cool you have those old magazines and newspapers! My kid goes to Cal so I am always up there visiting her. I actually used to live in Palo Alto. I miss the roads up there, especially going to Alices!

I currently ride my ’16 Thruxton 1200 to Alice’s occasionally. Can’t wait to take the Duc up there!!
