RWG I feel your pain! Got caught on the way to Goodwood in May - speed awareness scheduled, but have a horrible feeling I also got nabbed following a rapid old DesmosediciRR home on Sunday so holding my breath… 🤞 (mixed metaphors going on here - couldn’t find a holding breath emoji! 😆 )

Looking at a 2 days trip in Switzerland to ride in the Swiss Alps with friends living there, on the first weekend of September. And thinking the 851 would be a perfect ride for this. Now to organize for good weather!

PS: I always refrained to ride there due to tyrannical law enforcement on motor vehicles (sound/speed). We’ll see how that goes.

guillaume69 I used to live in Basel and Zurich. Had the 916 and the ’Blade with me :-) you will be amazed at what they ignored… but that was in 1998-2002 so perhaps thing are a bit stricter now! Just found a snap of one of trips my between UK and Zurich… good days 😎

Yes, the cameras can be a problem in CH. Keep a careful watchout. I’ve (so far) been lucky, but not all my friends have been so fortunate.

That said - last year when I was there, additional noise would have been helpful, as a 10t tipper truck reversed into me, knocking me off my (rental) bike.

888 is still in naughty jail as the battery is weak and the clutch slave is also oozing fluid, 4 months old so that’s cool.

So instead I got the 900 monster motor swapped 600ss out for a lick to celebrate the end of the weeks of rain. So much lighter than the 888, and still decent power, but I do miss the 4v noise…

888 was out to play this weekend. Sunday was a new one at the Southside Hustle car meet in Wimbledon. Was one of the few bikes, but there were some levely cars parked up on the Southside Common road and the nearby side roads.
