Weird forum behaviour

I've just noticed something, (which aligns completely with a conversation that I was having with @guillaume69 a few days ago). I'd always assumed that when we select "All Discussions" (which for me, is the default behaviour of the forum) that it would show all discussions, with the most recent first.

However - I then posted a message on Sunday in the Technical Forum, and have just noticed that it's not showing up in the "All Discussions" default page (though, it's there if I click on "851 and 888 Discussion", or the "Technical Forum" subtag), and there are a few other posts in there that I hadn't previously seen.

This feels like a barrier to registered users identifying and consuming new content (as we would otherwise have to click through each forum/tag to find new posts), and I'll need to figure out how to improve or fix that. I'm off to India this weekend for three weeks (to include two weeks on a Royal Enfield messing about in the Himalayas), so I'm not sure if I'll be able to resolve this before I go, but just wanted to acknowledge that I'm now aware of this issue…

Yep Mike, that’s exactly what I was alluding to. Some new messages don’t make it to the front window and are easily missed by users. Happened to me a few times already.

PS: Will you ride up to the highest road of the world (Umling La)?

Hell yes. I have packed industrial quantities of Imodium and antibiotics for gastro emergencies and diamox for altitude sickness (we'll be topping out at about 18,000ft 😵)

Yeah - apologies, I hadn't noticed that behaviour up until this morning. Was good to join my observation to what you said though

I think the highest pass that we'll be doing is the Khardung La, which isn't quite as high as Umling La.. but we'll definitely be in that sort of area.

I think I just stumbled across the issue whilst having a nose around- the "851 and 888 discussion" top level tag had managed to acquire a "hide from All Discussions" setting. Not sure how that happened (probably my fault!), but I've reset it, and can now see all those conversations from within that area on the home page…

No other tags have that setting, so I think we might be fixed..
