Paul - How about this version? Extra material on the outer edges (like Stig has in his photo) and better bracing. I want to try to make the pad be an option for people with SP4/SP5 original seats and want slimmer rear pads, so I don't want to make the top hook too wide, but I have lowered and lengthened the lower stabilzer tabs, on the left and right side.

Thanks to the forum for the reviews of what I have done so far and advice given.

Yes that looks really good now , I am sure you will be able to see and feel the difference. Where will you be getting the foam part and the covering material from ?.

After this part I guess the next job will be the front single seat base. That will require metal inserts but I am sure you could model in the necessary shape to fix them.

The first version is flat, and depending on the material, a bit of heat may well bend it nicely (not tried it yet). The second version has a raised edge that can be shaped by anyone wanting to get it right for their rear seat unit (as I am sure they all have little discrepancies in shape). What I would ideally like is someone here in the UK South of London area, who has an original single rear seat bike and who would be prepared to allow me to test fit these, so I can see if they work. Any takers?

you are welcome to have a fit up with my SP4 single seat unit. Bike up on the blocks at the moment though, so you'll need to come to me in E9.

Thanks Gavin, but the boys at ProTwins have a SP5 in that I will go and test fit (that's where my bike is right now).

For all of you following this thread, here is the redesigned base in PETG (so a little flex), raised sides (for when a covering is applied and pulls the base into a slight bend) and the frame for those who wish to modify an aftermarket seat.

The seat pad base takes just under 15 hours to print and the frame around 3 hours. due to the material, they need a little finishing, but I use a Dremel with a cutting wheel and it works really well in cutting the groove out of the hook part at the top and removing light stringing from the printing process.
