Hi there ,
No - frame was damaged , but only rear end tubes - rest was straight .
Had it cut down in a supermono replica I built , for years then tubes reinstated for the 926 rebuild !

Not progressed much really , Found some nos 926 corsa crank cases !

Really would like some correctly stamped heads for the 926 next , although have some correct year G heads that would do I suppose …….

By any chance, do you have any leads on another set of crank cases?

(specifically, I’d be interested in a set of NOS, unstamped cases)

Wish I did , but these just came up on a fb page last year !

A few years back now Brad Black aka Brad the Bike Boy had a set of the last Corse/SP5 cases for sale.

I used NOS ST4 cases to build my 955cc motor for my 851. All the lessons learnt from the 888/926 racing programme were incorporated into those ST4 cases.

I went through your pictures.

And saw you have a 916/996 rev counter on your bike.

What ECU are you planning to use on your bike and wirh that rev counter?

A P8 probably.

Yea , there’s a P8 fitted in the pics , I have a new corsa loom to go on after engine is fitted !

Are you sure that your rev counter is gonna work with the P8 ECU?

I can’t see a problem with that - remember that the early 916’s had P8 ECU’s. Even on the earlier bikes, pin #7 of the P8 ECU gives a RPM output for electronic driven rev counters.

Yes i know early 916 have P8 ecu’s.

But this looks like a tach to use with a 1.6 ecu,for what i can see on the picture.

I tought it was pin 12 you needed on a P8?

Pin #7 - though, on reflection - I’d never considered that the signaling might be different between a P8 and 1.6M, I’d always assumed it was the same, and that the tach would be compatible, so I don’t know for sure..

A rev counter from a 1.6M won’t work with a P8.

It’s from a 916 strada , so p8 compatible , also works on 1.6m but not other way round ….

Thats is why is asked,ido not think it is a rev counter from a 916 strada as far as i can see on the pictures.

So don’t think it will work,but icould be wrong.

You are right , the tacho in that old pic is a 1.6 version , the one fitted now says ducati racing and is the p8 version . Still not the right white faced one , but they are gold dust at mo …

Update , have all parts now to build my 926cc motor into those nos cases !

Have a nos loom as well , so we’ll on its way !
