After much soul searching I have decided my lovely 888 Strada needs to go. Basically, I just don't do enough miles on it to justify keeping it and we need the cash to fund my son's kart racing. I've owned the bike for the last five years and only just done a bit more than 2,000 miles! I've certainly spent a lot more time maintaining the bike than riding it.

This is one of the first ones fitted with the P7 ECU and lacking the fast idle and adjustable air-bleeds. The bike is certainly not concours (photos probably make it look a little better than it looks in the flesh) but its still in extremely good un-molested condition considering its age. The main panels appear to be sporting the original (generally very good) paint and are in crack-free condition. As would be expected, there are some scratches and stone chips that have been filled in with varying degrees of skill. The original front mudguard was, however, badly cracked so has been replaced with a good second-hand item though the colour match is not 100%. The only main departures from originality are the fitment of an LCD voltmeter and a manual fan over-ride. Currently sporting 18,742 miles with 5 months tax. MOT runs out next month but will get a fresh one if I get the full asking price.

It's just had the all-important belt and oil/fuel filter service in the last month. In the last year it has also had a new battery, new Samco hoses to replace the cracking originals and new coolant and brake/clutch fluid so the bike is ready for some serious use. Disks and pads are in excellent condition though I suspect the rear tyre will need replacing within a few hundred miles (the front is fine). The engine starts straight away on the button, ticks over from cold and runs strongly throughout the rev range. I'm currently running an open air-box but the original (and un-damaged) air filter cover and clips are included in the sale. I have a pretty good history back to 2001 with receipts.
