Have been "lurking" for a while and have now taken the plunge!

I am a British long term expat in Mexico and having come across a 1992 888 SPO for sale here, I simply could not resist her and she is now part of my ever growing collection.

I have a couple of questions about my latest acquisition and would welcome input from fellow members:
Is there a register of 888 SPO's in existence? Amongst the documents that came with the bike, is a copy of the import documentation, showing that the then importer of Ducati's in Mexico (the Chrysler distributor, of all people!), imported three 888 SPO's into Mexico in 1993, the documentation shows the frame numbers of the bikes and I am intrigued to know what happened to the remaining two!!
According to the vendor, the bike has lain idle for a couple of years, but starts and runs well (with a new temporary Taiwanese battery!) - aside from the usual changing of fluids and filters and the replacement of the belts, that I understand is recommended, what other re-commissioning works should I be considering after a long lay up?
The bike, as you will see from the photos, appears to have an aftermarket tail section, with no provision for rear / brake light. Whilst this does not appear to present a problem for the Mexican authorities, I am sure if I eventually export the bike to the UK, the absence of a rear / brake light might be frowned upon!!! Is it possible to source aftermarket tail sections identical to the original SPO unit, or do you think the existing unit could be adapted to accept a rear / brake light?
