Hi gang!

I'm the proud new owner of a 1990 Ducati 851, after having owned a '95 900SS/SP.

The bike has less than 1,800 miles on it, and I bought it from the original owner/collector. I feel quite lucky to have stumbled across it, particularly in my own backyard.

The prior owner special ordered the bike from Fast by Ferracci in PA, and when the bike was delievered, Eraldo installed a 888 kit with racing rods and pistons, custom chip, and ported/polished the heads, and balanced/blueprinted the motor. It also has an unusual exhaust system that was made for Ferracci by Rob Muzzy.

I'm located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.

The original tires are on the bike, and they're in pretty bad shape. I'm looking at putting a new set of Michelin Pilot Road 2's on it this weekend.

I paid $5,250 for it...I'll try to take some pictures of the exhaust this weekend...It's pretty generic looking, but evidently the baffle system was custom tuned for the 888 race kit and chip...

Welcome ! There's a great bunch of folks on this forum, tons of knowledge and experience on these bikes, you're in the right place 😄

I just installed a pair of Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs. They seem very well matched to the bike.

I'm now officially an old fart (thanks Jasper) but Michelin Pilot Road 2CT's work very well for me!
...same profile and they last a lot longer than the sticky rubber.

Welcome from another Florida member just down the road. I also have a 90 851 with what sounds like almost identical mods done. I bought mine about two years ago in Tenn. at an estate auction from the original owner. Unfortunately mine was also repainted when brand new. Surprised no one has asked if you know the service history, if it still has original tires the belts have probably never been serviced, I would make this a priority before putting any miles on the bike. If the belts fail the engine damage it causes will be pretty severe. If you need a hand changing belts give me a call, I'm in Tampa 2 or 3 times a week for work. my # is 423-364-6594 Jim
