Hey guys, any of you changed the front brake pads on a 89' 851?
Mine has the long 6mm pin with the nut on the inside. I found the nut super tight to undo and hard to fit a spanner or socket to (10mm). So l have left it for now.
I've changed heaps before on 916 with a clip arrangement.
What's the best way to tackle it?

Cut, grind or drill the head off and then replace it with a new Stainless Steel or Titanium bolt.
It might be a fath about, but it will cure the problem for the future.
On the rear caliper on my own '92 851 I helicoiled the caliper* to accept a bolt without the need for a nut.
It's worked a treat for thousands of miles now.
*It had worn so badly that the pin was as slack as a Yak in the caliper.
