Valve Cover's Magnesium

Have some Magnesium parts for the engine, and was looking at the valve cover on the exhaust side. The standard ones have a flat face as dose the cylinder at the mounting area.

The magnesium part only on the exhaust side dose not, to has some pretrouding ridges that would not make a seal by the look of it.

Is there a different gasket or something that Im unaware off.

After the 851/888/926 race program ended, there were quite a few unfinished Mag' valve covers etc knocking around.
I bought some myself...
What you need to do is file/draw file/lap the gasket face flat and then they'll be OK to use.
If you think this is beyond your skill set?
Send them to me and I'll do it for you FOC.

Edit...Along with valve covers to finish, I also bought cam support blocks that needed the oil ways drilled.

I'm on for the filing, as long as I don't go up in a white flame, have heard about unfinished mag parts, but these looked tidy and if there meant to be there.

That's just like the ones I got, despite them being painted you can still see the casting marks on the joint surface along with the lips in question.
I've got NOS genuine G heads here and they haven't got anywhere machined or cast for those lips to go.
Get the files out chap.
