Fuel pressure - ST4S / SPS

Gents..

Just about to finish the ST4S w dual pick up, SPS gears, timing/cover & Flywheel, P08 box, 2x dual green injector bodies from 996, 996 SPS P08 Chip, 3 phase rectifier... hmmm SP5 harness... etc .. Everything is SPS, except the heads.. (T1 cams will not go in the ST4S for now)

Question concerning fuel pressure unit... Do i need the 5 Bar regulator unit, the 996 did not have that 😳

Sorry, I am not too clear on what you are asking.

Standard SPS pressure is 3 bar and the regulator is part of the fuel pump assembly in the tank. If you are using a tank from an 851/888 you will need to add a pressure regulator to the return line to the tank. I used an external 851 regulator and swapped in one 851 side rail on the 996SPS throttle bodies to fit it there.

Alternatively if you fit a tank reversion valve on the return the pressure can be adjusted with the swapping of the spring (harder spring more pressure ) common on the 916 R race bikes.

Thanks guys... Not familiar with the 9xx tanks.. and did not realize pressure valve is inside that unit..

Will used Pressure regulator (attaching to throttle assy) , and yes tanks will be either a 93 steel version (ready) or CF if i get time to work it out..

3 Bar pressure regulator unit in place,... 3-2-1... dak, dak,.... wraaammm Hope so :-)
