Loti34 Verkaufe sehr gut erhaltene 851 SP3 in Originalzustand. Vendo 851 SP3 in ottimo stato, tutto originale.
dudlington Ducati did facelift the top fairing.............however unless I,m wrong the SP3 did come with the later number. See photo for what Ducati did to the tool , the 2 numbers are clearly visible. Only difference is the spacing for the mounting holes for the top screen and the main bracket fixing were different , shape was the same.
Loti34 Hello, the complete fairing is original SP3, original paint, Windsreen is from the mod. 92, original windscreen and the rearview mirror are included in the purchase. Price is negotiable 14500 euros Best regards
mikesps The front fairing was facelifted by Pierre Terblanche for 1992 along with the seat and tank shape. The SP4 has radiused edges between the headlight and air inlets while the earlier fairings are flat between the headlight and inlets.

Loti34 Unfortunately, I have no history of the km, I bought the SP3 through a broker from a Ducati collection from Bologna, the state, I think that will probably fit. Also has the original Bologna license plate ...
JImmySL Nux wroteFacelift fairing?Yes, look at my avatar pic which shows the pre '92 nose fairing which is the correct one for the SP3

mikesps Struggling to post photos, here are a couple of links, first is SP3, second is another SP3 with the later incorrect front fairing. https://mikesps.smugmug.com/Motorcyc...-285/i-d4KdBXB https://mikesps.smugmug.com/Motorcyc...33/i-gFbmrF7/A Mike lakeman wrotedo you have any photos of the differences?thanks!
dudlington Just happen to have 2 hanging next to each other in the garage..............my problem is both of these fairings came from 2 - SP4,s. I think in 92 some bikes had the earlier fairing and others had the later fairing. What ever they had in stock at the time. As shown earlier on my photo of the inside , you can clearly see the calender dated sometime in 92.........but when the earlier one was being changed for sure Ducati would have had a stock build up to cover when the tool was being modified. That stock should have been used before the new parts from the modified tool were ready for production. We call it FIFO (First in , first out) in the car industry. Another problem was I,m sure there were unfinished bikes sitting aroung waiting for other parts..............so it could be in 92 you had later bikes with earlier fairings and vice versa..........This was Ducati back in the day. Personally I do not think you can put a definative cutoff point on what should be on what bike...................or ????????

dudlington Well done.............looked nice from the photos. One of the best bikes to come out of Ducati with some nice components and paint scheme. You will miss your bike.
