RWG This bike Tricolore, means so much to me as I remember the travling down from Liverpool with my wife to Chelsea and bought my first 851 a 1988 Tricolore we sleept in car, outside a little chef I Think freshened up in morning and the drove to the selling address to buy bike, at That time I pushed the boat out regards good budget, the bike was only showing 600miles and I paid £6,500 for it. Rode it home forgot to hang arround and follow my wife, I did not see my wife until she arrived back home much later that day, boy was she angry. 2 Tricolore on she is still one of my favorite bikes, with certain mods like 17" wheel, maxton, and a few more. The 851/888 series has been the most engaging bikes I have ever owner, still proud owner of Tricolore & Sp4. Anyhow Thank you for post, is this bike for sale? Cheers Paul

wgsvintage I'm puzzled why that bike has a few important parts (fork sliders, triple clamps, brake calipers, swing arm, and possibly a little bit of the paint design) on it that would be more appropriate on a Tricolor Strada and not a pre-production Kit. Maybe they were replaced when it was "restored in 2014 to 100% original condition"??
wgsvintage To clarify what I meant about the parts, I believe the earlier bikes had silver painted fork sliders and triple clamps, the brake calipers were the gold "GP MK 1" P432A race calipers not the black P432D street calipers, the swing arm had bracing on the underside, and the green paint stripe kicked up toward the seat pad at the very tail end.
