Hello All, I am looking for a nice set of Termi's or FBF slip on high mount pipes for an OEM 50mm exhaust on my SP4. Would love to know if anyone has any they are no longer having a need for. Thanks

I have a set of carbon GiaCaMoto high cans. They are for 40mm but could be easily modified for 50mm

Thanks Marvin! I am trying to hold out for a set of FBF in 50mm. I appreciate the offer, but I want to keep it as period correct and unmodified as I can. Thanks for the response though.😎

These are period correct I believe. they were bought in '92 and on my '92 851 when I bought it. I'm not sure what the FBF looked ike but may well have been bought from FBF back then as there are lots of other FBF parts on the bike. I can post a pic if you want me too.

Still hoping there is a set out there sitting in a closet somewhere.
Thanks

Just my 2 pennies worth. The SP4 did not come as standard with Carbon cans , but the SPS did. I think you are after something pretty rare as there were only 100 or so of those. However I,m sure there were more sets made , but still rare. I made a set by adding the extra piece to fit to the SP4 header system.

Two pennies of great value. Yes, it is pretty rare to find a set and thus sending me to a bad place. I know of one set that was actually on the bike that a member still has, and there is partsplanet.it in Italy that has a set. By the time I pay shipping, euro conversion fee, tax and whatever else get thrown in, I am at a price that is just far too painful....and believe me, I tried to find a way! I have OEM exhaust with baffle inserts still tack welded in. I want to keep it original, so I won't remove those...but she needs to breathe!!! Thanks for the response.

I have been eyeing those for some time. When I get all done with shipping, and exchange fee it is almost slightly over $1k USD. That hurts a tad too much. I have also been warned by a couple of members about that vendor. I cannot confirm anything as they have 100% positive feedback....but I just can't pull the trigger on those. All that said, those are the EXACT pipes I want! Frustrated I still am....pipes I still do not have. (heavy Yoda voice)

But if you pay by PAYPAL what would be the problem ? If something went wrong you get your money back. The price is good as they are new.

Although that vendor has 100% positive rating on eBay, it's the complete opposite on various forums around the place. People out thousands of dollars for months and years, and that's if they ever get it back at all. Which is very frustrating, as he has what looks to be very nice gear, and it's gear that a lot of people want, me included. So he's shooting himself in the foot by scamming people. But then on one forum someone said he doesn't actually have the gear, it's all "I know where the back door is at xxxx, I have a mate who can shorten the made-to-order time blah blah blah". So who really knows? All I know is I can't afford to take the chance with that much $$.

I bought a set of sp disks from Jonathan in Italy(Parts planet, Brembo cast iron replicas), I nearly gave up in the end, Promise after promise but they did arrive 5 weeks after placing the order, I was just at the stage of asking for a refund but was promised once again and they did arrive, For some reason ebay held on to the funds until I got them, No idea why but he asked me to mark them as received so he could have funds released by ebay, Defo wasn't in stock which isn't mentioned until after purchase, Its probably down to the type of stuff he sells, To be honest im on the verge of ordering a set of the Termignonis, Having second thoughts of modding my strada ones, They are made to order by Termignoni and have an 8 day turnaround so im told, Placing the order is safe enough in my opinion.
Cheers Jack

Those were all the things that I had heard....and I was pushed to purchase direct AWAY from ebay and use paypal directly when I corresponded with them. Much less recourse if I had done that. Too many things had me worried about what the transaction MIGHT turn in to. And it was not like I was getting a deal on the pipes to begin with. I reached out to a North American dealer for Termi and have them looking in to a special order direct from Termignoni. I did not want to go in to detail about the things I had heard, but it sure appears that others have experienced the same problems. And DAMMIT, I want those pipes!

I did, in fact, purchase those exact pipes from partsplanet.it website, paid with PayPal, and received the set of pipes in what I considered a timely manner. I also purchased a carbon fiber tail and carbon breather box from them that were of good quality. I realize others have had different experiences but that's my story.

It really is interesting all the different experiences people have had with this vendor. Candidly, it is not worth it to me to try and put one in the "win" column for them. I actually just emailed Termignoni directly to see if they still can produce the pipes. Buying from Termi direct, or through a US dealer makes more sense and I would pay full boat retail, but not have to worry about it. Thanks for sharing your experience. I am glad it was a good one for you. BTW-I did have email interaction with that vendor and it was a high pressure sales attempt with an immediate effort to move me off of eBay and use direct paypal payment. That was telling all by itself.

I think I have found a set of exhaust cans that you are looking for. 50mm inlets (Actually slightly larger to fit over the header system)
Can you confirm this is the set that you are after ?.

Just wonder are these the ones I sold to you for peanuts ??
by the way I bought the parts you told me about Ta
