My name is Mark and I have just joined ducati851and888.net.

I have a DUCATI 851 STRADA DS which has been converted for track use only due to the excessive and intrusive😄 attention of the Lincolnshire Police Force!

For track use the engine has been fettled by GTEC PERFORMANCE, which is run by a very knowledgeable man - Jeff Green (ex-Moto Cinelli).

I will post some pictures of my GTEC851+37 later!

Much more of this and the 'Brits' will be the dominant force on this website!
Being a member of the DOC GB I've heard all about GTEC.
You're 1st post states 851+37, is this the power gained over the stock '92 851 motor at the rear wheel?
My Mildly (self) tuned '92 851 taking it out to 916cc, got me a gain of 28rwbhp, using standard flat topped 916 style pistons.
Which I was reasonably pleased with as I've used standard 916 heads/valve sizes I knew there was a lot more power to be had, but that is for later playing.

Just a couple of photos for your perusal!

The engine is making 109 bhp at 9000 RPM and 69 lbft torque at 7000 RPM.

I have only been able to ride it twice since the engine work, but it goes!

Browsing the GTec site I came across the following relating to maintenance of 998 Corsas etc:

"For the spectators amongst you who are interested in this side of the subject, here's a brief list of items recommended by Ducati to change on the older 998RS02 at 500kms (that's 500, not 5000)

* Opening rocker arms
* Closing rocker arms
* Big-end shells (Rods are changed at 4000kms)
* Crank-cases
* Cylinders & Pistons
* Cam-belts
* Clutch plates
* Oil and filter
* Valves

Plus other bits and pieces that are far too numerous to list!! As you can imagine it can get a little expensive!"

Expensive! He's not kidding!!
