Newbee here, have a 93 888 strada. Just noticed that my side panels where it says ducati 888 demoquattro have a slight variation in the decal color of letters and border. one color is a dark silverish with sparkles? And the other is a gold color.
Took both panels off and they both have ducati part numbers on the inside. Which color decal is the oem?

they should be gold.
i have seen new, but time old decals lose the gold when the covering is removed before fitment.

There are 3 different colours, depending on year. The early bikes had a copper colour, then there was a light gold colour and the the last runs had a silver look.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if possibly the factory put on a correct 93 panel on one side and an earlier year panel on the other side based on what they had or grabbed at the time.. as I hear they often did with other parts?
Both are oem and had the exact perfect fit heat shield foam lining that was basically disintegrating. Only difference is the decal lettering...
