Tank Pad

Hi Folks,

I have recently just assembled my new paint work to an early 851, Luccineli rep on Alloy Tank.
I am after a suitable Tank Pad, prefrably like Original back rubbers base items in the e 80s or something suitable for Tank.
Any one have one to sell or know where I may fine one.

For a while (I haven't checked lately) they were sold on Ebay but they didn't last very long. Foam was way to soft. I have been thinking about making some with the appropriate foam but I never getaroundtuit.

A chap on here called motobob1000 used to sell accurate reproductions of the protectors fitted by Ferracci back in the day. I've got one on my SP3- it looks better (IMO) than the modern carbon fibre ones, although the adhesive could be a bit stronger (Bob - if you're reading this, anything I can use to fix it better?).

However, if anyone knows of a source of the "period correct" foam rubber pads (two small rectangular pieces - had them on the SP3 until they disintegrated!) I'd definitely be interested. Are these the type you have in mind tomake Marvin???

I am not familiar with the one you speak of. I was thinking of the "tombstone with holes" type. If you have a pic of the two piece please post it.

you mean one of these?? Bob did me three for $75

Yes, one like that. I bought one on fleabay but it lasted for a very short time because it was of a really soft foam.

Some pictures at last! Naturally I don't have a good picture of the pads when they were on the bike (!), but the first attached image gives you an idea. The second image is a scan of the pads - the top one is about 2.25 inches high, the lower one about 3.25 inches. If you (or anyone else) knows if they were OEM (or period) fitment, and if they are still available, I'd be very interested.

Hi,

Has anyone heared recently from Bob, I recieved my first order two Tank Pads. But since then I have used paypal again for seconde order, he replyed acknowledge the order but not heared since.
I havedeclared PM but no replyed as yet, Hope all is ok.

Missing order

Hi Folks,

Could you Asisit with contacting Bob, My mail for what ever reason is not getting though to him.

The last mail I had was Three Week ago acknowldeging order and paypal payment. He said he would post following day, still not seen anything as yet.

My first order was very swift but not getting any reply now. Any help would be appriciated

1st order: Ordered Two Pads paypal payment 21st Match, recieved Item within a week. Great Item.

Then emailed and ordered Another Two Pads, paypal payment 8th April, Bob replied will post next day, not recieved and no responce from sevearal email, including Pm.

Please Bob if your reading this post could you advise, I do not want to ask Assistant from paypal..
