Side stand lenght

Just wondering if theres anything on the market to get the 888 to sit that little bit more upright? longer side stand or similar, Its worrying how far they lean over

I had an extra piece welded on the end of an alloy sidestand when I jacked up the back with suspension loop extenders as the bike was sitting almost horizontal.

Wear on the pivot pin and hole or loose mounting bracket bolts don't help either.

I drilled, countersunk and tapped the foot of the stand, then bolted on a 10mm thick piece of dural to the bottom of mine.
Works a treat.😎

Thanks think I will give bolting a piece of 10mm plate to the face and see how it feels,

I just put the bike on various thickness pieces of packing to see how it sat, settling on 10mm.
I shaped the alloy "Packer" to match the foot of the stand, set it on a bed of JB Weld, used Titanium C/sunk screws (one from the top of the foot, the other from the underside and up into the leg of the stand) and also drilled a few lightening holes in the foot.
I don't like to add weight to my 851.
I also bored out the worn pivot hole in the stand, fitted a bronze bush and then drilled it to accept a grease nipple.
Perhaps a little over engineered? But it kept me happy for a couple of hours.😏

You Think yours is over-engineered Steve! Because of the combination of Jack up kit and Corse Yokes, my bike leaned a LONG way over. No way was a 10mm add-on going to work. I did the same as you, made a bronze bush(No lubricating nipple), extended the stand then found with the position of my gear lever and foot pegs, I was hitting the stand with my foot. So bent it out. Then found the added angle caused it to bend, so added a web! Sorted now. Unfortunately somewhat heavier, but it isn't EVER going to snap and the bike is upright.

Later on I re angled mine, but this was to clear the 50mm Spaghetti system.
I use a reverse Corse lever on my bike, the modified stand got nowhere near it though.
I'm running Corse yokes with 27mm offset and the rear only jacked up by a few mm's.
It works for me, I couldn't get on with the jack up parts.
I cut a V into the leg, warmed it up, bent it and then welded it all up, it's nowhere near as bent as yours though.
Oh and how about this for over the top? The grease nipple is Stainless Steel. 😏

Yes, mine is 50mm as well and running the reverse lever. I had to bend it that far as i needed to open up the gap between the foot peg and gear toe spigot. Every time i went for a downshift, i would hit the stand and the side stand warning light would flick, giving me a heart in mouth moment, as its next to Oil pressure! Granted, it's orange,not red!

That's not something that would happen to me mate, I don't run any "Idiot" lights on my bike. 😉
The early 851/888 type alloy Corse dash has a temp' gauge, electronic rev counter and a ON/OFF switch....and that's all it's got!

Slingshot model is nice looking, but needs a bunch of reworking to clear. The right choice for me was the OEM stand for the 907 ie. it's exactly the same as the original stand, except it is a bit longerguessing 15mm or so. Worked perfectly and looks original.

I use this on my 851, with a 996 bracket. 1" longer and works perfectly.
