Price is pretty good for such a rare part. Apart from original SP cans this is probably the rarest item to find especially unused, my NOS screen ended up being 200euros... took me 5 years to finally get one

Thanks for the posting! I have been looking for one for years. This is the first new original windscreen that I have ever seen for sale. I ended up buying it. Hopefully it arrives in good condition.
They still have the part listed on their site, so they may have more than one?

Hi
I noted it says : Suitable for ducati 851( NO 851 TRICOLORE)
So it will not fit 92-94 bikes me think !

My bike is a 1991 851 SP3. So I am hoping that it is the correct part.
SP128
From the pictures, it appears to be for the 91 and later modelsthose with the rectangular Vitaloni (red) mirrorsas it shows the larger, more squared cutouts to clear the mirror bolts. Might still work for the earlier models. But, I did not purchase it as a spare, because I'm not sure it would line up with the holes on my 90, even though I have retrofitted those mirrors, using the existing mounting points. Have put the less attractive but harder to source mouse-ears in bubble-wrap, where they belong, IMO.

I bought one for my 1990 851 with the Mickey Mouse mirrors. It's due to be delivered today but bike is not here. Will it fit my 1993 888 in that case?
Thanks

AFAIK after my searching there are only 2 sorts of screen, pre & post 91/92 fairing change I had an aftermarket post 92 on my sp3 when I bought it, still fits but not perfectly.
firefly_1965
Has anyone got pic of bracket holding Mickey Mouse style mirrs from inside please?
Need to check what fitting it is.
Received my screen today. Will definitely fit 888. In perfect condition. V pleased. Should have ordered a spare.
firefly_1965
Definitely for 1991/2 onwards, fits my 888 but not 851, i may email them and let them know about the misprint on their website.
If anyone has a link to the earlier screen that would be great.

How does the new screen not fit very well on the early 851? Now I am worried that it will not fit my 851.
My 1991 851 SP3 has large cutouts in the screen to clear the inner bracket for the large rectangular Vitaloni Baby Turbo mirrors.
From looking at aftermarket screen manufacturers, the earlier screen for the 89-90 bikes have small cut-outs for the mirrors and the 1991-1994 851/888 has larger cut-outs for the Baby Turbo mirrors.
Ducati shows that there must have also been some slight change in the later screen as the 1991 screen has part #48710011C and the 1992 screen is part #48710011D.

There are 2 part numbers for the top fairing. Look at the photos and their description.
My feeling is your sp3 will have the later type top fairing so this screen will not fit......however it is Ducati and maybe your bike has the wrong top fairing fitted. Check the part number on the inside of the top fairing.

I have a couple of spare new screens if someone is really desperate that I was hoarding.........just pm me.

Anyone know for sure if the original screens for the 888 should have the part number (48710011D) etched onto it? I got one from desmomarket that does indeed fit the 1992 onward 888's with the cagiva elephant and dot markings on it but there is no Ducati part number etched on it?
dudlington
No part number just this.

Foggy 888
Uggh! Dudlington, you are correct. I have the earlier style fairing upper #48130011C which uses the windscreen with the smaller more rounded cutout. It looks like they changed the screen when they updated the body style in 1992.
The headlight/fairing bracket is more substantial with two mounting holes in it for the mirror and has a rectangular backing plate. The earlier subframe only has only has one mounting hole and is ind of oval in shape.
Ducati changed the cutout in the screen to clear newer style subframe.

851 or 888 screen ?
Just to add to the mix so far;
I have the DOT 292 - AS5 - M125 screen in both "851" rounded mirror bracket shape, and the later "888" sausage shaped bracket cut-out.
Both screens appear the same in 3D shape; I suspect I'll need to carefully Dremel the 851 example to fit my later mirror bracket cut-outs, and maybe re-drill a couple of the holes for the centre fairing.
Is it possible the factory did something similar, particularly if they had supply remaining of the 851 versions, and insufficient of the 888 screens ?
