Water AND oil temperature gauges on 91 851 strada?

Hi all.
Have recently bought a 91 851 strada, and a previous owner has installed an extra temperature gauge in the dashboard and customized the original. I am thinking of re-doing it back to original.
My question is if there might be any particular reason for having both, and why i should not make it back to original specs?

Go back to original spec, there's no reason to fit a oil temp' gauge.

Who ever did the conversion did quite a nice job. If he had the correct colour needle it would look factory. Once again it is personal choice. We ran an oil temp gauge on one of our race bike which identified an issue we once had so we just kept running one as we changed out bikes over the years. I don't think you would have to many issues in Norway but hotter than average oil temps can mean an unsuitable oil which was our problem.

I agree, it looks very nicely done. Why don't you like it? If it is the look, then sure remove it. If it is for originality, no Millenial would ever know...

I just think it looks better original, and i have bought the black foam part, so i will probably bring it back to factory look. No, the heat is not a problem in Norway and i will not race it so off it goes :-)
