Great winter's day here: a mild 12c so a 250k ride but at 4k rpm cracking the throttle there was a lag an a splutter like running on one plug.
So learned friends ( & Mr R !!) the question is put, or what should I look for first is it:
(1) fuel starvation/filter
(2) plug breakdown
(3) coil breakdown under load?//////

My money is on filter. Then dirty injectors. Slack throttle response and low fuel flow go together like ham and cheese.

loss of power?
Thanks Griff, its another great day here so I'll check out the lines, filter and then injectors,,,,and a road test. 😄
Mr.R
I'm with Griff on it most probably being the fuel filter but...
I usually check swap out the easiest parts 1st, so the 1st port of call (for me) would be to change the spark plugs.
After that I'd be looking at the coils/HT leads and plug caps.
If that doesn't sort it then go to the fuel filter.
I'm 99% certain that a combination of these three will sort out your problem.

rough running?
Thanks Steve, spent a beautiful winter's day cleaning the fuel system of accumulated rubbish blocking the pump gauze, filter and probably the injectors. Hot caustic washed tank to a clean base so now we'll refer the injectors for cleaning.
? are the injectors IW 724 the same as the ST3/4s?
Cheers ( 4 weeks to the Manx 😄
