Ok folks, I'm sure this has been done to death but I can't find the definitive answer on here!
I have just bought a set of Marchesini / Brembo 5 spoke wheels from an S4 to fit onto my 1993 888 Strada. They are the later ones with 25mm axles.
I was intending to use the 888 sprocket carrier, making necessary spacers etc, but the overall width of wheel and carrier comes up around 5mm wider than the original 888 set up.
I understand that the carrier can be machined but the only photos I can find on the forum look as though the sprocket face is machined. This doesn't narrow the overall width and just moves the sprocket closer to the wheel centreline.
Can anyone tell me which faces they have machined on the carrier, along with any bearing changes/ serial numbers.
Or maybe I need the S4 carrier? (But I think not).
Thanks for any assistance guys. I have access to lathe and milling etc.

If i remember well,i used a sprocket carrier of a 600ss.

I'm fitting the same, I know the gear sprocket can be reversed ? I did ask in a private message to someone who did this on the forum but no reply. If someone here can supply that info I'd be very grateful, I can do the machining myself as well but haven't access to a lathe here in Spain as yet.

The 25 mm axel fit on monster/st have the same with between the swing arm but the wheel is ofset some 5-6mm to the left.
The 25mm 5,5" wheels are that much wider than the 5,5" wheels for the 17 (19?) mm axel.
The 5 spoke from 900/1000 ss is straight fit
If I remember corect I did a lot of machining on the carrier...

Yep, thanks for that. The reassurance I was looking for before firing up the old Myford lathe!
