A few pictures as requested of the WP's

Any ideas out there of who/when used WP suspension on 888/926 race bikes?

one of my old bosses brothers raced an 851 back in '89 - '91 or so and he ran them i think. it's back as an very infrequent road bike now i think and still has them fitted.

WP Forks

Thanks Brad these are later issue 926 with 20.05 on the top of the legs but I have no idea if this was a date stamp.

I am fairly sure that there were a couple of 926's out there racing and because of sponsership deals they could not run Ohlins or Brembo and went WP suspension front/back and AP brakes all round.

Be nice to find some history as there were so few White powered races these forks might have history even though they look hardly used.

I have Wolfgang Zeyen's "Ducati Desmoquattro" and it has pictures of Edwin Weibel's 94 Ducati DNL WSB 926 with WP suspension. Some pictures show Brembo calipers and one shows 6 piston with no visible name, but probably AP.

Waibel's WP suspension was done by a Dutch guy called Stamsnijder. He also worked for Ten Kate Honda duiring the season in wich they grabbed their first SS600 worldtitle. He has his own company now: SO-Products. http://www.so-products.com
He has also done my Ohlins suspension, it feels softer as with the factory settings but the bike really feels stable on the racetrack, even at high speeds! And tyre wear is much better as before!

I have the idea that a lot of german riders have used the WP suspension instead of the öhlins. They probably did it because of the cost of an öhlins.

Here's a pic of a set of mag yokes that we think were used for WP forks. 27mm offset, both top and bottom are bored for 54mm legs.

...and because in those days the WP factory offered a much better support for privateers than Ohlins did.

Where are these mag yokes?

They belong to my friend Mark. I'm storing them and lots of his other parts until he can move. I will see him this afternoon and ask if they are for sale.
