I've recently replaced the fork seals as part of a re-commissioning exercise and obviously removed the fork legs. I assumed that the service manual would provide the stock settings for how far above the yokes the forks should be set when replacing and didn't measure before removing. Anyone got the stock measurements so I get the fork legs in correctly?
I was also wondering about the clip-ons as there is no 'pip' or similar to indicate the standard position for these. Last time I just lined them up by eye but I wonder if there is a better method of ensuring both clip ons are actually at the same (correct) angle.

The dimension is in the manual somewhere, it's measured from yoke bottom to fork top.
I'll have a dig.

Looking at the book it says for Showa 263mm from the underside of the bottom yoke to the top of the fork including the flat of the adjuster.
For Ohlins it's 268mm but does not include the adjuster flat and shows it measured at the top of the fork tube.

10mm is a reasonable place. If you want to speed up the steering go more. If you want to slow it down go less.
The limit is when the front guard hits the frame by head under max braking.

Thanks for the info - should have measured before I took them apart but I didn't!
