freqrider wroteSo I got it all apart and thankfully the parts weren't all galled up so I decided to go with the cheap fix. I replaced the spring on the sprag with a spring from an SKF CR19778 oil seal. It tightened up the tension on the sprag's cams nicely and it functions perfectly now. We'll see how long it lasts. I couldn't see replacing the entire sprag as the spring was obviously stretched out. I mean, wouldn't the spring on the new sprag stretch out eventually as well? $8 part, $300 labor! That's if I paid myself! 😉
Starts right up now, no more clunk-clunk! 😄 I love those cheap fixes!
Labour of love.. savings = earnings ... well done !
