Jasper Does anybody know why the Corsa cam bearing caps don't have an O Ring groove and why there is a lip or step on them?
Mr.R Hi Jasper, I'm not 100% sure on this??? But it looks to me like you've got some unfinished castings. I bought some NOS Corse magnesium valve covers from a forum member and they were unfinished. I had to sort them out before I could fit them, they had similar lips left on the castings even though they'd been painted by the factory (with green zinc chromate) to stop them corroding. Edit...Back in 2000 when I attended the WDW event in Italy there were piles of these painted but unfinished magnesium parts for sale in the paddock/auto jumble. Steve R
Jasper That is possible mate. I bought 4, 3 as you would expect and three not. My thoughts were that the early caps did not have the groove all the way round, so the oil hole could be 180 degrees out, so i was thinking that the lip may only allow the caps to go on a certain way?
