Hi forum,
i am just planing my winter-project. What do you think about that configuration:
888 case
996 sps cams
ST2 crank
30/36 valves
50mm throttelbodys 4 injectors
strada gearbox
How many HP and NM could that baby have? Any idears?
Thanks for help!

Hi,
What size bore are you using 94mm?
If your using standard (94mm) 888 bore the ST2 crank would make the bike a longstroke 944.
What compression ratio are you aiming at?
What airbox are you fitting?
What exhaust system have you got?
Have the heads been ported/gasflowed to suit the 36/30 valves and the cams you are going to use, by someone who knows what they're doing?
All of these will effect what power your project will eventually make.
There's an old English saying that goes...
"How long is a piece of string?"
I have a similar project on the go at the moment, but I've got Hi comp 96mm pistons which will make the motor 984cc.
I have 916SP heads fitted with 35/31 valves and 54mm throttle bodies, of either single or twin injectors.
I expect to see somewhere between 125-130 rwbhp, torque should be up around 80+ ft lbs.
Max rev's under 10,000 rpm.
I'll be using the 3 piece carbon airbox and 'X' shaped carbon runners I have stashed away and a full 50mm Spaghetti system.
I think that a well prepared/set up 944cc motor using the parts that you've listed could be made to put out somewhere around 115-120 rwbhp.
But then again...
"How long is THAT piece of string?"
Are you building the motor yourself?
If so please let us know how the project is coming along over the long winter months.
I know that I'd like to read about it and I'm sure a lot of other guys on here would also follow it with great interest.

Hey Mr. R,
thanks for input. For sure i will tell you how the project is going on. A friend of mine is fixing the engine. Heads aslo 916 SP, pistons Racing 94mm, rods Pankl, exhaust is 50mm Termingnoni Racing spaghetti, airbox is a 3 piece carbon and ecu P8. Compression good question😳
That´s the puzzle
Mr.R
Nice collection of parts you've got there Red.
Hours/Days of Winter fun to be had with that little lot!
The 96mm Race Pistal pistons I've got are claimed 12.8-1 in a 916/955SP, but I'm also using a longstroke 900SS crank for 984cc so the comp' will be way over that.
I'll adjust/modify the piston crowns and the combustion chambers to give the highest ratio that I can get away with, whilst still being able to use pump fuel and still be able to start her on the button.
I've got a new pair of Carrillo rods for this motor.
